Consortium
The Consortium of Vermouth di Torino PGI was founded in 2019 at the behest of Vermouth di Torino producers that wanted to safeguard both the name of the product and its specific nature and characteristics from imitation and abuse.
The main purpose of the Consortium is the protection, promotion and valorisation of the denomination, protecting information to the final consumer and providing technical assistance and professional training to companies and producers. Its main tasks also include surveillance activities to ensure the correct application of the Protected Geographical Indication.
Among the objectives is also collaboration with institutes and schools to promote initiatives related to valorisation, food education, and correct and responsible consumption.
The Production Regulation of the Vermouth di Torino PGI was defined, and approved by the Ministry of Agricultural Food and Forestry Policies with the Decree of March 22, 2017.
